Year 9 Social Studies - sum-up

Kia ora, My name is April and I am telling you how I felt Year 9 social studies. Some of my favourite things that I learnt was learning about sustainability and also how we went on a trip called Te Taiao O Tamaki. I think I could do better at opening more and also be more confident. Something that helped me in social studies was learning about life lessons but also how we had the most amazing teacher to teach us  because without Ms Apelu we would not be where we are as a class and we would not be that strong. and now it has came to the end of the year we have all became closer as a class.  But I am gonna miss 9RMz heaps and I am upset we are moving away because I actually have known all of the students real good and and also I am gonna miss being around all the kids apart of 9RMz of 2017. I wish we never had to move because I am √ loving them now.

The theme for this Projects was Called Sustainability.
Some of the projects were.

  • Our Houses & Home
  • Our Waterways
  • Healthy Eating
  • Identity & Culture
  • Parks & Public Spaces
  • Rubbish & Recycling
My Group done the healthy eating it was gathering up to Sustainability and how that came together is because healthy eating is all about eating healthy and my group focus was to tell people that they HAVE to stop eating junk food because adults & kids are spending most of there lives on JUNK FOOD. I have a deal for you Start eating healthy food more often and you can probably eat Junk food once a month. You don't have to listen but yeah. Start eating healthy food to get a healthy & active body.

My favourite part of this unit was everything because we had the best teacher to teach us Ms Apelu she is the head of Social Studies also why everything was the favourite part was we had the Te Taio Tamaki @ Te Oro then 6pm - 9.30pm we had a Junior social and I learnt heaps about all the projects like for one the Waterways everyone just dumped rubbish in the Greek.

Something that stood out for me @ Te Oro was all of the photos I took & also the Tamaki College Samon group and why that was because they were the best Performance.

Ko te awa means I am the river which means in maori Ko te awa.!
Describe at least 3 things you observed during the programme?  What were the meanings behind them?

How did you show R.I.S.E values during the trip?  Describe each value.
- Respect is shown as listening  and doing as you are told
